Stow Pump Track

Stow Pump Track

Set in Stow Park, the Stow Pump Track is a purpose-built circuit of rollers, banked turns and flowing features, designed to be enjoyed by riders of different ages and abilities.

The track can be used by balance bikes, BMX bikes, mountain bikes, scooters and other suitable wheeled equipment. Pump tracks are designed so that riders can generate momentum by moving their body through the rollers and turns rather than relying on pedalling.

Since opening, the track has become a popular part of village life. It provides young people with a place to meet, be active and build confidence on a bike.

A community project

The pump track was five years in the making. The project began in 2019 and was taken forward by a group of local volunteers working through Stow Community Trust. Construction was completed in December 2024 and the track was officially opened in May 2025. It was designed by internationally recognised pump-track designers Velosolutions and built by local company Bikescape.

The £175,944 project was made possible through support from sportscotland’s Cycling Facilities Fund, Scottish Borders Council, the EDF Renewables Longpark Community Fund administered by Foundation Scotland, and the SSE Renewables Toddleburn Community Fund.
